Halloween Treat Bags

Hi!! Hope everyone is has had a great week! We have had a busy week after such a fun weekend celebrating Harper's birthday - I can't wait to share the details of her party soon! October is such a busy month for us (and everyone else it seems). We have a couple Halloween parties coming up so I have begun thinking about what to bring to those. I love making little treat bags for the kids to hand out. I bring them to the kids' classroom parties and Halloween parties as well as hand them out to neighbor kids and friends who come to our house to trick-or-treat. All these = A LOT of treat bags. I don't really want to blow our monthly budget on treat bags, so I have become more frugal in the bags I use as well as what I put in them.

I found these adorable treat bags at the Dollar Tree of all places!! They come in a pack of 6 for $1...awesome. I also found these cute Halloween suckers there (also 6 for $1). I try not to buy a lot of my candy there as I have noticed that, while you are only paying $1, the bags of candy are very small and you may as well pay essentially the same amount to get a larger bag elsewhere. Dollar stores are also good for fun little fillers to put in the bags. I have used bubbles, stickers, tattoos and bracelets in the past. This year I went with the ever popular spider rings and pencils.
Each bag totaled about $0.40...not bad!!  At that price, we can still make our mortgage payment this month ;)  Hope you are all having fun gearing up for Halloween!!
