Skin Care Routine

I have gotten a lot of questions on my skincare routine and I am so excited to finally be sharing it! Skincare has always been very important to me - probably because my mom has engrained it in me from a young age! She owns a beauty spa, Ave Medical Laser Spa, and is always giving me instructions on what to use and what are the best and most important products. I often try new and different products, but always come back to this essential routine.

The backbone of my skincare routine is the Obagi Nu-Derm System. This is the #1 physician-dispensed skincare system. Obagi is great for reducing and preventing sun damage and age spots. It also helps create a more uniform and healthy skin tone. I noticed results after a couple weeks of using. It is a little pricey for the whole kit - but once you purchase the kit, you are able to replace each step as needed.

I use the Obagi face wash with the Clarisonic Mia. Do you use a Clarisonic? The cleanser is great at cleaning pores -my mom always notices when I slack off on using it ;)

Following the Obagi face wash (step 1) and toner (step 2), I then use steps 3 & 5 at night. I use steps 3 & 4 in the morning - the great thing about Obagi is the bottles tell you when to apply :) I do not use step 6 at night as directed. I have very dry skin and use a more intense moisturizer at bedtime.

I use Skin Medica Dermal Repair at night - it is one of the best night creams on the market. Skin Medica is another medical grade product line and I am a HUGE fan of Dermal Repair. It is one of the only products that works on my super dry skin. I also use their Eye Repair Cream in the morning and at bedtime. Right after starting to use this eye cream, I noticed a difference in my eye puffiness. It also helps prevent wrinkles and fine lines around the eyes.

In the morning, in addition to the Obagi steps 2, 3, 4, and 6, I also apply the Skin Medica Vitamin C+E complex. Vitamins C+E are great for blocking free radicals in addition to creating younger looking skin.

After applying my skin products, I then use Revision Intellishade Tinted Moisturizer. This is one of my favorite products and one I CANNOT go without!! This gives my skin a beautiful glow. It also has sunscreen in it. I prefer the Original and not the Matte product.

In Summary and Order:
AM: Obagi Step 2, Vit C+E Complex, Step 3, 4, 6, Skin Medica Eye Cream, Revision Intellishade
PM: Obagi Step 1 + Obagi Cleanser, Step 2, 3, 5, Skin Medica Eye Cream, Dermal Repair

Sounds like a lot to slather on your face, right? While it does take a little time, my mom and her beautiful, youthful skin are a great reminder of how important it is to take care of your skin starting at an early age. Because these products are medical grade, they do come with a higher price tag. But, as with all medical grade product, a little goes a long way and they tend to last a long time. Plus, Ave Medical Laser Spa is offering 20% off to Blushing Momma readers!! Use code blushingmomma20 to receive discount and free shipping!

What are your favorite skin care products?!

XO, Brooke
