Dining Room Reveal

I am so excited to be sharing another room reveal with you all!! As you may remember, we purchased our home in May and have been doing renovations throughout since. As you can see from the before photo above, we did not have to do a lot of work to this room. We replaced the floors, painted, and added a chandelier - outlined below. The dining room is just off of the foyer and one of the first rooms you see when you enter the home. Because of this, I knew I wanted some wow factors in this room.
I began by deciding the color and style of wood I wanted for the furniture in this room. Our flooring is a grey brown that goes well with most wood tones, and I knew an area rug would be covering it a lot of it, so it did not impact my furniture decision as much I thought it would. There are so many options when it comes to the color and style of wood tables! We considered a washed grey look, but I decided to go with a warmer, worn oak as I felt the room needed to be a little more classic and I was worried about the grey wash standing the test of time. After deciding the wood style, I began my search for a table and found this amazing table. I inherited this beautiful buffet from my in-laws and they coordinate so well together. After deciding the table, I moved onto chairs and I LOVE how these turned out. The captain chairs are such a distinct shape. Both the captain chairs and side chairs are covered in a vintage velvet and I love the contrast of the navy and white.
To complete the look, I then found this amazing chandelier from Pottery Barn. We have high ceilings, so the impact of this chandelier is pretty great. The picture above the buffet is also another great statement picture in the room. Lastly, we inherited this darling vintage bar cart from Aaron's grandparents!
After deciding the main elements of the room, I was kind of stuck when it came to finishing touches. Enter Omaha interior decorator, Erica Bryant. Since I love to decorate, I have never chosen to work with a decorator before now - and I am not sure why I waited so long!! Working with Erica was like working with a great friend who shares the same design style and taste as me. She found the perfect rug for the space - one that is beautiful, but does not take away from the focal points of the room. Selecting a rug would have taken me forever and I would not have found one this perfect. Erica also helped stage the room and bar cart and offered needed opinions on final elements of the room. Not only did she save me time and the headache of trying to decide, she also styled it better than I could have! Check out Erica's other inspiring designs on Instagram.
I hope you enjoyed the dining room reveal! See below for the list of full details.
