Happy 2017, friends!!! We are slowly crawling out of our post-holiday haze and getting back into our routine. We have relished these days of staying in our pajamas until noon and not worrying about rushing to activities…part of me is not ready for Elle to head back to school on Thursday 🙁 In addition to our break from routine, I have enjoyed a little break from the blog over Christmas break and ready to get back at it! Starting with sharing the fun we had over the holidays!
Christmas weekend started with a fun night with my family! My sister and her family came from Kansas City and joined my parents, youngest (newly engaged!!) sister, and us for a fun night out! We left the babies at home and went for a great dinner and on to a show downtown. We don’t get those adult-only nights very often, so it was so much fun to enjoy that time together.
For the past couple years, we have spent Christmas Eve just the five of us. We watch movies and make during the day, then head to church. After church is dinner, followed by opening gifts in our PJs and then rushing to bed before Santa arrives.
^^Best part of opening gifts 🙂
^^Melts my heart!
Christmas Day we headed to my parents to continue celebrating!! I got in lots of sister time, which is always great 🙂
^^Kids table 🙂
^^Adults table. My mom sets a gorgeous table!
^^Trying to get a picture of these three is too funny!
We celebrated Christmas with Aaron’s family the following weekend – we always alternate which family gets Christmas Day 🙂 Elle was so excited to get this mermaid tail!
^^Both kids were lucky to get a Hatchimal! They were actually so fun to watch hatch 🙂
^^Post Christmas disaster………
Our Christmas decor is all taken down now. I have slowly created space to store all the new goodies. Our house isn’t entirely back to order, but it is on its way. It has been terribly cold the last coupe days, and I can’t help but have a little bit of that post-holiday funk. And while I am not overly excited for Elle to go back to school and our activities to pick back up, I think getting back into our routine will help us all. I hope you all had a wonderful holiday and are on track for a joyous New Year! I have some fun blog posts planned and look forward to sharing them! We have a really exciting trip coming up this month 🙂
