Bench & Pillow
My mudroom may not be the most glamorous room in our home, but it is definitely one of the most used! I am excited to share this space with you all it is one I didnt know that I would ever share as hadnt felt like a very inspired space until a couple months when my reno/update bug hit again. This room is right off our garage and used several times a day, so I wanted to create a bright space that felt welcoming and fit the style of the rest of our home.
We had updated our powder bath earlier in the fall with . I loved the quartz counters we selected so much and wanted to repeat them in the mudroom. Updating the counter led to painting all of the woodwork white (from cream when we bought the house) to adding new hardware and so on. The slate floors were not replaceable (due to budget and how awful they were to tear out of the rest of the main floor) and I wanted to minimize how much my eyes were drawn to the flooring.
The new counters from are Cambria Skara Brae. Talk about a difference! The old counters were grey formica and were dated and dark. The gorgeous new quartz is bright and beautiful. The great part about it being a small area like the desk is cost is low and replacement is easy. The space feels instantly brighter with the new counters! has done all of the counters in our remodels in addition to the beautiful selection of surfaces, I love working with their designers!
For the hardware, I went with lucite & brass. It is always amazing how simply changing the hardware updates the space. These feel more modern and fresh. I repeated the lucite & brass feel with our new calendar. I added the brass clips myself and we use this as a place to not only keep our calendar, but also hang important things like invites, school menus, and cards.
Aside from the counters, our light fixtures are my most favorite part of the space. I really debated on the style to hang in here. The ceilings in this space are high, so pendant lighting felt fitting and filled the space.
I couldnt be happier with how this room turned out. It feels so bright and fresh and is so inviting as we come in from the garage. The biggest part of the transformation was replacing our dated counter with the gorgeous quartz from . Now, what room should I tackle next???
