I am so excited to share with you the first of our room reveals at our new home!! We moved into our house in May and renovations started the next day. It has been a long, but fun process and I am so glad we are nearing the finish line of phase one of the renovations.
The living room was one of the easiest rooms on the main floor to update as all it needed was paint. We painted ceiling to floor – if you see in the before photos, the ceilings were a beige which really pulled them down and added to the dark feeling of the room. We painted the cabinetry and walls and the overall feel is much, much brighter. We were torn on removing the carpet and replacing with wood floors…ultimately, we decided it wasn’t a priority for us with our budget and we kind of like having carpet in the living room. Later on, we can change to wood and add a large area rug very easily. The living room is sunken and has a half wall (behind the couch) which separates the upper, kitchen and eating area. I love that this keeps an open concept, yet creates separate spaces. I will list all of the details I can think of – let me know if you have any questions on color or finishings. I designed the space myself and really love how it turned out!! I will be excited to share how I change this room up with fall and holiday decor!
